The demographics in America’s high schools shape the campus climate immensely. The students’ lives are molded by the other students they are surrounded by. Difference in demographics are highlighted moreso when looked at between public and private schools.
The demographics within the teachers also carries a lot of weight for the students and the schools themselves. The demographics for the teachers of America is substantially different than that of the students of America. The campus climate is most likely greatly affected by the difference in demographics between the students and the teachers. While students of color made up more than 40 percent of the school-age population. In contrast, teachers of color were only 17 percent of the teaching force.
